IECAVNIEKS GROUND FLAXSEED

Ground flaxseed is obtained from high-quality flaxseed. It is ground to improve absorption of the essential nutrients in flaxseed.

Iecavnieks ground flaxseed is available in 250 g and 500 g vacuum packs. The packaging protects the ground flaxseed from the oxidation process and extends its shelf life. After opening, store in a closed container in a cool place.

Ground flaxseed is a rich source of valuable nutrients. They contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, minerals, soluble and insoluble fibre, protein and lignans (natural substances found in plants with phytoestrogenic and antioxidant properties).

Studies have confirmed the beneficial effects of flaxseed on the body and its functions. According to research:

  • flaxseed contributes to the health of the circulatory system by normalising cholesterol levels;
  • stabilises the digestive system due to its soluble and insoluble fibre;
  • alpha-linolenic acid in flaxseed is converted by the body into Omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for cardiovascular health;
  • flaxseed is also used to normalise weight;
  • flaxseed contains lignans and is therefore particularly recommended for menopausal women.

Application:

  • add 1–2 tablespoons to kefir, yoghurt, buttermilk or fruit juice;
  • sprinkle the ground flaxseed on salads, pizza, sandwiches, fruit smoothies or other dishes;
  • bake flaxseed bread and make a variety of pastries.

Nutritionists recommend incorporating ground flaxseed into the diet. It is a nutritious and healthy natural product.
